GRE scores in the verbal and quantitative reasoning sections vary from 130 to 170, while the analytical writing assessment ranges from 0 to 6 with half-point increments. The mean GRE score for verbal reasoning is 150.37, while the mean for quantitative reasoning is 153.66. While the average may be your aim, in order to get into a top b-school, your GRE scores may have to be a bit higher. What might be noticeable is the lack of scores for the analytical writing assessment. The AWA section for many schools is not required, and may not even be regarded. It is critical to pay attention to your GRE score while looking at which schools you want to apply to. Your GPA and coursework can take you far, but taking the GRE can take you even further.
